  • I have to say we are relatively new to Duncansville Lutheran, approximately 3 years. I had belonged to Duncansville when I was a young child w/ my parents. As a child I knew my mother was not really accepted by the women because she WORKED & SMOKED. The first few Sundays my husband & I were so pleasantly surprised at how extremely friendly everyone was. We are friendly ourselves & always smle, we found the same from those at Duncansville. We found Pastor Jamie to be such a sincere, loving & creative soul. He amazes us at his abilities. Our daughter just said this Sunday how she loves his personal input in the sermons, it makes everything more real. We love the fact that at the service we attend everyone is so relaxed. My mother always said "You wear your best to Church, You're going to God's House". I believe we give God our best, but I'm glad to see Church is not aa fashion show. No one should ever stay away from God's House because their best has holes in it. I know it is hard to accept change, the human animal always fights against it, but I think the changes at the Church are wonderful. We must attract the young people so we have to be a part of their world which does include technology. Duncansville has invited technology into their ministry in very tasteful ways. There is a comfort there, like being HOME. I don't wear my shoes in my house when I don't feel like it, I take my shoes off sometimes at Church if I want to be very comfortable, God doesn't care. I love that I can see Pastor's Dog at Church sometimes, he is a wonderful part of God's Creation. I think we should have a Sunday when we bring our pets to have them blessed. One of the best things my husband & I have done is to belong to Duncansville Lutheran. Come & see us some Sunday; You will be glad you did!

. Very inconsiderate. Always wanting money for every tiny thing. Update in response to "JD". - Yes, this church is filled with rude people always asking for donations. And it does not help anyone but the Pastor to turn the church into something it was never meant to be. There is no need for the technology being put in there at the church. That is God's house. Not the Pastor's house. Plenty of others agree with me as well. And nothing will ever change my mind. This used to be such a nice church until Pastor Olson came along. One more thing, it is absolutely obsurd that he let his dog into the church as well!

  • As a leader of the congregation, I beg to differ with pegleg. We ask for nothing, unless you consider helping others less fortunate a "tiny thing". We welcome all, and ask for nothing.
